Local apparel accessory makers have urged the Government to issue Utilisation Permission (UP) facility to the Bangladesh Garment Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA). Rafez Alam Chowdhury, President of BGAPMEA said, “The members need to face a three-step audit–bond audit, valuation audit and local revenue audit, which is time consuming and troublesome. This can be done in a single audit.” The BGAPMEA president also added that export-oriented garment factories get ‘continuous’ bond facilities, but the members of BGAPMEA do not get such facilities. The association leaders will meet NBR officials soon.
