In a move to reduce the dependence of country’s producers on foreign testing agencies, Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) has unveiled Designated Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements (DRiCM) – a first-of-its-kind ‘Proficiency Testing’ mechanism for the labs across the country. The Proficiency Testing is an objective mechanism for a lab to compare and accordingly calibrate its performance with others for same test. It allows a lab to investigate any outlier results, identify the root cause(s) of the problem and improve the performance where needed, reported a leading Bangladeshi daily.
