Media reports suggest that the personalized pinstripe suit worn by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House event for US President Barack Obama was made by ‘cloth merchants of distinction’ Holland & Sherry of Savile Row. The wool fabric featured the PM’s name woven in camel colour to give a pin-stripe effect. Bipin Chauhan of Jade Blue, the Ahmedabad fashion store that tailored the suit for the PM, refused to confirm or deny the origins of the suit length citing a privacy clause. However, personalized pinstripes are indeed a part of Holland & Sherry’s signature collection. Holland & Sherry has a tie-up with an Indian partner Digjam which retails their fabric and the cost of its fabric lies anywhere between US $ 1,515 and US $ 2,272 per metre.
