CII – Avantha Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs, an India-based consultancy, is organizing a one-day Training Programme on ‘Autonomous Maintenance – A tool to enhance Productivity’ on 17th March 2017 in Chennai, India.
The idea behind the training programme is Autonomous Maintenance, which depicts that zero breakdowns can be achieved only if production operators are involved in finding the existence of any abnormalities. Operators should perform certain equipment maintenance activities and that maintenance activity get closely involved in the daily operation of equipment. The focus of the operating team is on cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, monitoring and other such essential daily tasks traditionally within the domain of the maintenance department.
In a current scenario, operators in an under-performing plants lack a feeling of ownership and have a mentality of “I run it, you fix it.” Whereas, in world-class plants, the operator becomes the asset owner, the focus for routine maintenance and the central figure in overall equipment effectiveness.
It may be mentioned here that the training programme should be attended by Operation/Production Managers, Production Heads, Engineers and Industrial Engineers.
