Textile group FAGEPI and Council of Igualada, organizers of the European knitwear fair BSTIM (Best Solution in Textile Manufacturing), have signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Textile Portugal (ATP) to promote the fair.It will first be held in Porto, Portugal on 15 and 16 February, and will instigate the Portuguese players to exhibit at the Spain edition as well which is going to take place from 22-23 February in Igualada, Spain’s knitted textiles capital. Both fairs organizing entities have a joint target to promote the commercial development of the fashion industry in their own countries.

The agreement also provides opportunities for other exchanges and partnerships aimed at jointly attracting big names so far resorted to the Asian market and offer them the possibility to manufacture in proximity. In addition to this, the agreement also focuses on an international project that aims to represent BSTIM as a European reference point in knitted fabrics and garments.

To go with the agreement, the organizers have also announced to organize BSTIM as an international biannual event from now onwards. It may be noted this fair is being organized successfully since two years in Spain and the council believes the BSTIM will get strengthened as an unmissable biannual event in the calendar and more concentrated presence of international buyers and increased number of exhibitors will take this event to a whole new level in upcoming years.

The key objective behind this fair is to promote ‘textile manufacturing of proximity’ and fortify the domestic industry.
