43rd edition of West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers fair has opened its gates today in West Bengal (India). Earlier, the fair used to take place from December 2-4 every year, but due to the demonetization in the country, three-day extravaganza was delayed.
Vijay kariwala, VP of the association informed, “We have got 102 participants which make for more than 300 brands in total. The event is core B2B fair wherein we are expecting big retailers, prominent wholesalers, distributors and agents on a pan-India basis.”
Owing to the fact that Kolkata is known as the hub for kidswear manufacturing, the current fair has more of kidswear players. Over 500 wholesalers from different parts of the country are likely to be present at the fair. In three days, the footfall of 1,500 visitors is anticipated, mostly from New Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Amravati, Indore, Patna, Assam, etc.
The fair has been taking place for over 40 years now. The response for the previous editions has been phenomenal as this event hosts around 80 per cent of its repeated participants.
